Award-winning independent Scotch whisky bottler Saltire Rare Malt is heading to the West Coast of the United States this spring, with two exclusive tasting events lined up in California as part of its growing American expansion.

The Falkland-founded company, named Best Newcomer at the 2025 Scottish Whisky Awards, will host back-to-back showcases at two respected independent California retailers — Hi-Lo Liquor Market and Vintage Wine & Spirits in Los Angeles — offering West Coast whisky lovers a rare chance to explore its ultra-rare single cask releases.

The California events follow a successful run of tastings in Texas and Louisiana last month, where the brand introduced itself to new audiences across the South. Strong demand from those shows has driven the company’s continued push into the US market.

Guests at both events will be guided through a hand-selected range of expressions from some of Scotland’s most celebrated distilleries, including Tormore, Ardmore, Dailuaine, Glenburgie, Linkwood, Benrinnes and Teaninich, as well as Falkland, Saltire Rare Malt’s sister Speyside single malt brand. Global Brand Ambassador David McCallum will travel over to host the evenings, joined by Business Development Manager Laura Sol.

Co-Founder and Director Keith Rennie said: “California is an exciting market for premium spirits and we’re delighted to bring Saltire Rare Malt to two fantastic independent retailers on the West Coast. These tastings are about sharing Scotland’s whisky heritage, the stories behind each cask and the remarkable diversity of flavour that single cask whisky can offer.”

Founded in Falkland — recognised as the historic birthplace of Scotch whisky more than 530 years ago — Saltire Rare Malt specialises in sourcing and bottling exceptional single casks only when the whisky has reached peak character. Its collection is curated by internationally respected whisky experts Hans Offringa and Becky Lovett Offringa, known globally as The Whisky Couple.

The first California event takes place at Hi-Lo Liquor Market on Wednesday, 29th April from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM PST. The second follows on Friday, 1st May at Vintage Wine & Spirits in Lake Balboa, Los Angeles, running from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM PST.
