Popular hospitality, leisure and retail destination Archerfield Walled Garden has added a new name to its roster of much-loved Scottish brands, as fifth-generation family bakers Fisher & Donaldson join the line-up at its newly refurbished Food Market. The move marks the Cupar-born bakery’s expansion into East Lothian, more than a century after it was first established in Fife in 1919.
Founded by brothers-in-law Willie Fisher and Davie Donaldson in a small premises in Cupar, Fisher & Donaldson has grown from humble beginnings into one of Scotland’s best-known bakeries, now operating seven shops and cafés across Fife and Tayside. Over the years, the family business has built a loyal following for its traditional, award-winning recipes, handcrafted using locally sourced ingredients and techniques refined over decades.
At Archerfield Walled Garden, the bakery will bring its full breadth of baking to the Food Market, specialising in everything from breads and pastries to savouries and cakes, including its famous fudge doughnuts. Visitors can also look forward to coffee towers, strawberry tarts and freshly baked loaves, all made to the same time-honoured standards that have defined the business for more than 100 years.
