Interior designer Iona Wilson styled the shoot in her mother’s sage green kitchen

Loch Leven’s Larder has created a Christmas “tablescaping” and entertainment collaboration with Talking Tables, the UK-based brand, showcasing products from its Partridge in a Pear Tree range, Fun Santa range, and Gilded Gold collection. The project, led by Larder owner Emma Niven, also highlights festive food and flowers available in the Loch Leven’s Larder Gift Hall. Christmas Displays are now available to view at Loch Leven’s Larder and its design and lifestyle store, 1848.

Niven, who has run Loch Leven’s Larder for 21 years, has a background in retail and floristry. Over the years she and her retail team have introduced customers to brands including Talking Tables, Sophie Allport, Mark Peters, Broste and Caroline Gardner. “This Christmas I have gone even further in my quest to inspire and delight those shopping with her,” she said, explaining her aim to make visitors say “I want Christmas at my house to look like that!”

For the social media campaign tied to the project, Niven called on her niece, Iona Wilson, who runs Iona Interiors, an interior design business working with clients on space planning, colour and material palette, furniture lighting, finishes and bespoke joinery. The shoot took place in a kitchen Wilson had designed for her mother, featuring a sage green colourway accented with cranberry red and antique brass handles. “We realised it was an ideal fit for Talking Tables Partridge range which also features these classic Christmas colours,” Niven said.

Niven described how Talking Tables founder Clare Harris travelled to Scotland with her marketing team for an all-day shoot. “We captured a beautiful festive table completely styled for Christmas, with candles glowing, Christmas crackers and napkins set out, and flowers and foliage bringing it to life. It was also crammed with our gorgeous festive food,” she said. “The Partridge products absolutely popped against this gorgeous kitchen and dining area. We created a series of enticing festive scenes which will be used on our socials this Christmas, as well as mirrored in our displays in the Larder.”

Niven said videos on her socials will show customers how to layer their festive table at home. “We’re not just selling Christmas, we are presenting customers with the whole Christmas moment!” she said.

Iona Wilson said: “As an independent designer growing my business across the country, I am so pleased to have been involved in this fantastic collaboration with the respected and successful brand that is Talking Tables, not to mention Loch Leven’s Larder which always pushes the boat out at Christmas to present its customers with something really special.” She added: “Together, we have created something that feels beautiful, warm, Scottish, achievable, and full of Christmas!”

Clare Harris, founder of Talking Tables, said: “It has been our absolute pleasure to come up to beautiful Kinross-shire and take part in this inspirational tablescaping project with Emma and her team. Our products are really shown to their best advantage, not only in this project, but generally, in Loch Leven’s Larder, which is a credit to Emma, presenting the retail experience as it should be.” She added: “I would like to pay tribute to her as one of our longest running customers, having stocked Talking Tables for 20 years. She, and other long term customers, have been instrumental in helping us grow our brand which has always had the customer who loves to entertain around a table, having fun and playing games, at its very heart.”

Thursday 12 November sees the debut launch of an Alpine Experience at Loch Leven’s Larder, running up until Christmas Eve, with curling, Alpine-themed food and drink, an Alpine bar, private Alpine booths to hire, and entertainment nights and events for all the family.
