New menu offers traditional favourites with a touch of indulgence in Cotswolds manor

Ellenborough Park is inviting guests to experience its new Sense & Sensibility Afternoon Tea, served within The Great Hall of the hotel’s historic 15th-century manor house. Set in the Cotswold countryside, this experience is designed to evoke the romance and refinement of a British country house afternoon.

The menu for the Sense & Sensibility Afternoon Tea features traditional afternoon tea favourites alongside indulgent additions. Guests can choose from delicate finger sandwiches and savoury treats, including a caramelised onion and Double Gloucester tart. Freshly baked scones are served with clotted cream and strawberry jam.

A selection of cakes and patisserie offers a finish to the experience, with highlights such as cherry and dark chocolate trifle and raspberry Battenberg. A choice of teas accompanies the food. The afternoon tea is inspired by the romance of Jane Austen’s “Sense & Sensibility,” aiming to celebrate good company, thoughtful details, and unhurried moments.

Ellenborough Park is a 15th-century manor house positioned at the foot of Cleeve Hill, within 90-acres of grounds. It is located near Cheltenham Racecourse and various villages in The Cotswolds. The hotel’s 61 rooms and suites, refurbished in 2023, feature Hypnos beds, luxury linen, modern amenities, and ensuite bathrooms with roll-top baths.
