Food supplier also reports lower claims costs after fitting MANTIS cameras

Albion Fine Foods is using Webfleet, Bridgestone’s fleet management solution, alongside Prolius’ AI fleet management software, to improve cold chain visibility and support safer, more compliant fleet operations across its national delivery network. The food supplier operates 45 HGVs and 90 vans, delivering fresh, chilled and frozen produce to chefs, restaurants, hotels and hospitality businesses across the UK. Headquartered in Dartford, it has added satellite depots in Stoke, Chippenham and Aylesbury to improve delivery efficiency.

Webfleet’s integration with Prolius gives the back office team access to key vehicle data through a single interface, helping it manage driver and vehicle processes more efficiently. If a vehicle breaks down or suffers a tyre blowout, for example, the incident can be managed through Prolius, with Webfleet data showing the vehicle’s exact location. The integration also supports compliance by using Webfleet vehicle movement data within Prolius to identify exceptions, such as a vehicle moving without a completed check or an unroadworthy vehicle being driven.

“By connecting Prolius workflows with Webfleet vehicle data, Albion can see the issues that need attention faster,” said Richard Stenson, Director at Prolius.

The company is using Webfleet’s cold chain solution to monitor temperature data across its refrigerated operation, including smaller vans fitted with onboard temperature recording equipment. “Cold chain visibility is hugely important for us,” said Gavin Grant, Transport Manager at Albion Fine Foods. “Previously, we were reliant on vehicle printouts, and often only knew there was an issue when the driver tried to print the data and nothing came out. With Webfleet, the information is there in real time. We can see when a vehicle left, where it’s been and what the temperature was throughout the day. If there’s a problem, it’s flagged straight away so we can contact the driver and deal with it immediately.”

The system gives Albion Fine Foods a digital audit trail for temperature-controlled deliveries, supporting both internal compliance and customer requirements. “If a customer needs information from a previous delivery, we can go into Webfleet and pull the temperature history for that vehicle,” said Grant. “It makes everyone’s life easier because the data is there whenever we need it.”

Webfleet is also helping Albion Fine Foods simplify HGV compliance, with remote tachograph downloads giving the transport team daily visibility of driver hours and helping them identify potential working time issues before they become a problem. FLEETiQ reporting, from Webfleet partner and telematics specialist Vtec Solutions, gives Albion an additional layer of insight by turning Webfleet data on driver behaviour, idling and wasted fuel into performance reports.

The business is also using an integrated MANTIS camera system to provide video evidence in the event of road traffic incidents, helping protect drivers from disputed claims. Claims data comparing the six months to 31 March 2026 with the same period the previous year shows Albion’s claims cost per vehicle fell by 74%, while claim numbers were down by a third. “Our main reason for using cameras is to show exactly what happened when an incident occurs,” explained Grant. “When you’re operating in busy areas such as London every night, this evidence can be vital.”

Lauren Moffat, National Account Manager at Vtec Solutions, said: “Albion Fine Foods needed a system that could support the day-to-day demands of its fleet, from temperature-controlled deliveries and HGV compliance to driver behaviour and camera evidence. By combining Webfleet with FLEETiQ reporting, we are helping Gavin and his team turn fleet data into clearer insights to support compliance, safety and performance.”
