LEADING Scottish hospitality group Buzzworks Holdings has unveiled a stunning new venue nestled in the heart of Edinburgh’s Royal Terrace Gardens.

Situated at 3 Royal Terrace Gardens, on the corner of London Road and Easter Road in Abbeyhill, the brand-new Herringbone bar and restaurant is positioned to the north of the city’s iconic Calton Hill and a short walk from Edinburgh Playhouse.

Set to open today, (April 28) the 120-capacity venue enjoys an elevated position which guests can enjoy from the comfort of the light, warm and welcoming bar and restaurant or the stylish outdoor terrace – the first of its kind for Herringbone premises.

The cool, coastal-style venue is set around a stunning bar centrepiece, offering local craft beers, 30 wines by the glass, speciality spirits and beautifully crafted cocktails developed by an in-house mixologist.

Individual diners and families alike will also be able to sample a range of dishes from a lovingly crafted food menu, which draws on inspiration from the plentiful larder of East Lothian and across Scotland.

Long-standing Herringbone favourites – including delicious Seared Steak Slices served with rocket and parmesan, and the flavoursome Sesame-Crusted Bass Rock Salmon Burger with pickled cucumber & wasabi mayo – will be on offer, as well as some brand-new dishes created by our talented chef team.  It’s safe to say there is something to suit all tastes and please even the most discerning of diners.

Kenny Blair, Buzzworks co-founder and managing director, said: “We’re very excited to have completed the recent renovation of Herringbone Abbeyhill and cannot wait to start welcoming guests when we open our doors in the coming weeks.  It’s the perfect place for friends, families or colleagues to get together and enjoy a few drinks, delicious food and fantastic service.

“Our menu will offer fresh, local produce and family favourites that our regular guests have come to know and love, as well as some unique new dishes that are bound to tantalise the tastebuds and excite new customers too.”

The new Abbeyhill premises is the third Herringbone venue to be opened by Buzzworks, with the group already operating sites in Edinburgh’s Golderacre and the recently refurbished Herringbone at North Berwick, which has been reimagined with a new central wine bar acting as a focal point in the venue, as well as newly-inspired natural furnishings in a ‘casual coastal’ style and botanical plants throughout.

The Abbeyhill site has undergone a radical transformation, with an extension built onto the back of the original building to accommodate space for the Herringbone brand’s biggest kitchen area yet, which will be powered solely by electric.

The venue will also support the creation of 20 new jobs, with recruiters from the award-winning group on the lookout for talented people to join Herringbone’s front-of-house, kitchen and management teams.

Kenny added: “We believe we’ve created a great working environment for our team by creating our biggest and best Herringbone kitchen yet, alongside the creation of dozens of new jobs within the area.

“Herringbone Abbeyhill is a fantastic addition to our growing portfolio of much-loved destination bars and restaurants, and one that we believe will be a real amenity to the local community.”
