One of Glasgow’s best-known sports bars has reopened its doors following a £500,000 transformation, just in time for this summer’s World Cup.

The Raven on Renfield Street has unveiled a major refurbishment, positioning itself as a leading live sports destination in the city. The venue now features state-of-the-art audio-visual technology, including a digital wall made up of eight HD screens and more than 20 screens placed throughout the bar to ensure uninterrupted matchday viewing.

A newly introduced sports viewing zone, known as ‘The Arena’, offers increased capacity for groups alongside tailored matchday packages. The redesign brings a brighter, retro American sports bar aesthetic, complemented by a modern industrial finish. Guests can enjoy premium viewing from La-Z-Boy seating or pre-bookable booths designed for group occasions.

Upstairs, the first floor has been upgraded with two electric darts oches, a new pool table and a private bar area available for exclusive hire.

The food and drink offering has also been refreshed, with a menu featuring pizza doughnuts, Detroit-style pizzas, burgers, hot dogs and sandwiches. Desserts include deep-fried Mars bars and toffee apple pecan pie sundaes. A £12 lunch deal is available, offering options such as Texas toasties, brisket dogs and Raven Philly cheesesteaks, alongside a complimentary soft drink.

Midweek promotions include pints from £3.50, wine from £5 per glass and cocktails from £5. For larger groups, ‘ultimate stadium packages’ are available within the venue’s ‘Director’s Boxes’ or La-Z-Boy seating areas.

Customers can order via table service, at the bar or through a QR code app.

To mark the tournament, football fans will receive a free pint of Cold Town Beer every time Scotland wins a match during this year’s World Cup.

Stuart Harrison, general manager at The Raven, said: “We’re back just in time for this summer’s World Cup with an epic new look and the ultimate sporting experience in the city.

“We’re already making our name as the go-to sports venue in Glasgow, complete with new sports viewing zone, La-Z-Boy seating for prime viewing and matchday packages for groups.

“We also have an incredible food and drink offer, including our new pizza doughnuts and Detroit Pizzas.”
