Edinburgh is about to welcome a new addition to its vibrant dining scene with the upcoming launch of Celestia, a restaurant that promises to bring a unique blend of tradition and innovation to the city. Located in the heart of Edinburgh, Celestia is set to captivate food enthusiasts with its exclusive Indian Tasting menu, among other culinary delights.

Celestia is the latest venture from the owner of the award-winning Cilantro restaurant in Leith. This new establishment is poised to offer one of the few Indian Tasting menus available in Edinburgh, showcasing the owner’s commitment to culinary excellence. The team, including new chefs, has been meticulously crafting a bespoke tasting menu, ensuring that every dish tells a story of tradition and innovation.

In addition to the tasting menu, Celestia will also feature an à la carte and lunch menu, catering to a wide range of tastes and preferences. The restaurant will operate from Monday to Sunday, with lunch service from 12 pm to 2 pm and evening service from 5 pm to 11 pm. A fully licensed bar will complement the dining experience, offering a variety of drinks to suit every palate.

The restaurant boasts seating across both the ground floor and basement areas, with a separate private dining space planned for a later launch. The high-end décor, designed by MSR Architecture & Design, promises to enhance the local aesthetic and become a staple of the community. A handcrafted chandelier, imported from abroad, is a highlight of the interior design, while a unique bar and ceiling detail will remain under wraps until the grand opening.

The owner of Celestia, said: “At Celestia, we believe great food is more than just ingredients. It’s a story of tradition, innovation, and connection,” remarks the owner. “We have been working on this project for some time now, and we cannot wait to open our doors to everyone and look forward to welcoming all very soon.”

Celestia will host a soft launch on 14 April, followed by its grand opening on 15 April 2025. As the finishing touches are applied, the menu is expected to be released soon, building anticipation for this exciting new culinary destination in Edinburgh.
