Raise a Glass for Pride with “The Shirleys”: Cheeky Canned Cocktails by The Drinks Bureau, Supporting LGBTQ+ Charity Stonewall Housing

07/06/2024

Get ready to raise your glasses high and celebrate Pride in style as The Drinks Bureau proudly presents “The Shirleys” – two of their premium Ready-to-Drink (RTD) cocktails, including the refreshing non-alcoholic Shirley Temple and her naughty vodka-based alter ego, The Dirty Shirley.

Honouring the LGBTQ+ community, these cocktails support Stonewall Housing, a national charity dedicated to aiding individuals facing homelessness or unsafe living conditions due to their sexual orientation or gender identity. For every sip of The Shirleys, consumers play a vital role in contributing to the ongoing efforts of Stonewall Housing. The Drinks Bureau pledges to donate 10p of every can sold from now until end of August, to support the invaluable services provided by Stonewall Housing, offering assistance and refuge to LGBTQ+ individuals in need.

Indulge in the delightful flavours of juicy cherry, zesty ginger, lemon, and bitters with the non-alcoholic Shirley Temple, or opt for the refreshing blend of vodka, juicy cherry, and a kick of ginger and lemon zest with the Dirty Shirley. Packaged in vibrant cans, these cocktails are perfect for raising a toast at home while supporting an amazing cause or sharing with friends during Pride celebrations.

“We are very excited to be a part of Pride this year with The Shirleys”, says Frankie Snobel, founder of The Drinks Bureau. “Bringing cocktail joy nationwide and donating to an amazing cause. My family has experienced homelessness first hand, so I know how life changing charity support can be and how easily people can unexpectedly be in need.”

Founded in 1983, the charity Stonewall Housing provides specialist housing advice, advocacy and support for LGBTQ+ people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, with specialisms in mental health, domestic abuse, substance abuse and supported accommodation.

The charity works with more than 3,200 people every year, and sadly the demand for their services is only increasing. Last year saw the highest number of referrals in one single quarter in their 40-years of operating. Since inception Stonewall Housing has helped over 40,000 marginalised and vulnerable LGBTQ+ people.

Stonewall Housing CEO, Steven McIntyre comments “I am just delighted that The Drinks Bureau are partnering with us to help to raise awareness of LGBTQ+ homelessness and of course much needed funds for the charity. Every single day we see more and more LGBTQ+ people finding themselves homeless and it is not an exaggeration to say we simply couldn’t do our work without our incredible supporters. On behalf of the 3300 LGBTQ+ people we worked with last year, thank you.”

Along with being sold at select pubs nationwide, The Shirleys are available for purchase on Amazon for easy shopping. So cocktail lovers can support a worthy cause while enjoying some delicious drinks!
