Glasgow’s Saint Luke’s & the Winged Ox, has unveiled a new autumn Americana menu that’s set to launch next month.

The revamped menu celebrates a return to its soul food roots, offering indulgent, shareable dishes and signature classics, all highlighting a new focus on smoked specialties.

Developed with the help of a newly installed in-house Traeger smoker, this new menu offering takes inspiration from the Deep South’s traditional cooking techniques, with each dish delivering rich, authentic Southern flavours.

From seasonal slow-cooked meats, smoked for up to 12 hours in the smoke pit, to new house-made spice rubs and signature sauces, this is a culinary experience you won’t want to miss.

Starting early November, diners to Winged Ox can expect daily smoked specials featuring tender BBQ Spatchcock chicken, melt-in-your-mouth beef short rib, and low-and-slow brisket.

Each dish brings the rich, robust flavours synonymous with Southern cooking, all complemented by house blends of spices, creating a truly unique dining experience in the East End.

In addition to the smokehouse stars, the streamlined menu includes a variety of Southern-inspired favourites such as classic burgers, Nashville-style fried chicken tenders, charred corn ribs with cajun butter, and chipotle pork belly.

Signature sides include loaded cajun fries, chilli slaw, and mac and cheese.

Signature offerings like the “Big Ox” smashed beef burger, topped with cheese, bacon, and burger sauce, and the loaded mac & cheese with bacon & molten piles of blue cheese, are sure to satisfy cravings for comforting, hearty meals.

Since opening in 2015 Saint Luke’s & The Winged Ox has been a beloved East End institution, known not only for its exceptional food but also as a versatile music, arts, and events venue.

Housed in a Grade 2 listed building that dates back to 1836, Saint Luke’s offers an exciting atmosphere for both live performances and laid-back dining.

Speaking about the new menu, Alex Riches, operations manager said: “Our new smoke pit has allowed us to refocus our offering and return to the bold, hearty flavours that our customers know and love here at Saint Lukes and the Winged Ox.

“We wanted to create a menu of comforting, soul-warming Deep South-inspired meals that are perfect for sharing with friends and family.
