Preparations are well underway for Taste Dunoon, the town’s first ever food and drink festival, with a growing number of award-winning businesses committing to the event that runs from July 25th to 26th on the seafront.
Organisers Dunoon Presents are also in the process of creating a legacy for the festival in the form of a trail that will highlight a range of delicious food and drink producers and sellers such as Dunoon Goes Pop, that sells fizzy drinks and cordials using natural ingredients like rhubarb, and award-winning butchers Kents of Dunoon.
Ciorsdan Fagan of Dunoon Presents explained: “We already have the confirmed participation of over 65 businesses including many that have recently picked up awards. The inaugural two-day event, that will be officially opened by Scotland’s National Chef Gary Maclean, is taking shape nicely.
“Taste Dunoon will include the likes of Dumpling Mama, a street food vendor that sells Cantonese dumplings. They finished in second place in the 2025 Scottish Street Food Awards whilst rum producers Titan Spirits won gold at a World Rum Awards. The festival will also feature everythingCHILLI who produce a range of preserves, Granny Beaton’s clootie dumplings and Chouxmake’s Cakes,” added Ciorsdan.

Wee Knob of Butter, a finalist for Dairy Product of the Year at the 2025 Scotland Food & Drink Excellence Awards, will also be taking part. It was founded in 2021 by Jules Bal who moved to Scotland from France at the age of 14.
“From the start, our focus has been on producing the best artisan butter in Scotland using the finest and freshest local Scottish ingredients, an ethos we have not compromised on to this day,” explained Jules.
Selkie Seaweed, that uses rope-grown kelp from Argyll, will also be spreading their seaweed-infused love of butter!
Ciorsdan went on “All of these and many more have gained recognition on a national stage with both visitors and local people getting the opportunity to taste their mouthwatering creations.
“The iconic PS Waverley will visit the town on Friday 24th July so why not travel “doon the watter” from Glasgow on the Friday and stay in Dunoon for a few days to enjoy what the festival has to offer?
“Our marketing activities in recent months suggest that anticipation and awareness of the festival is growing all the time with interest expressed by people from right across Scotland and the UK.
