The Dalmore Inn & Restaurant at Blairgowrie has launched a special Valentine’s Day Menu, which this year will be available on both Friday the 13, and Saturday, the 14 of February, along with the restaurant’s regular menu.

With a choice of three starters, mains and desserts, all individually priced, the Valentine’s Day Specials Menu will suit those who enjoy mixing and matching to create their dream menu.

For starter, that well-known aphrodisiac, the oyster, is available three ways – Mignonette, Tempura and Rockefeller, served with flaked hot smoked salmon and creme fraiche. Or tuck into a baked camembert for two with hot honey, served with chutney and crispy bread. Crispy Aromatic Duck with pancakes, spring onion, cucumber & hoi sin dip is another popular choice.

Main course choices include a fillet of beef, an escalope of sea trout, and a roasted butternut squash and cauliflower tagine.

We all agree that there’s nothing more romantic than sharing a dessert. The Dalmore Inn’s Sharing Platter for two is a real showstopper, with Red Velvet Parfait, Banana Tart Tatin, Dark Chocolate Cremeux, Champagne Mousse, Poached Strawberries & Salted Caramel Ice Cream. Or enjoy a Passionfruit & Raspberry Sundae, served with passion fruit sorbet, raspberry ripple ice cream, passion fruit curd, meringue kisses, raspberry compote, Chantilly cream and wafer. The final dessert choice in this stand out menu is the Champagne Mousse, accompanied with poached strawberries & strawberry sorbet.

“We think this is one of the most impressive, and most romantic selection of dishes we have ever produced for Valentine’s Day at The Dalmore Inn,” said Head Chef, Iain Naysmith.

“There’s something for everybody, whether it’s sharing, or standalone dishes. It maybe depends how well you know one another. If you’re on a first date you might not be quite ready to share! Some may view it as an opportunity to get to know one another better!”

Iain finished by saying: “Whatever you choose, our team of talented chefs have pulled out all the stops to come up with these special dishes to tempt your tastebuds, celebrating the day of love!  We look forward to welcoming you.”
