Virgin Wines has agreed to take two units totalling 82,000 sq ft at the second phase of the £100m APTUS industrial and logistics development in Lancashire.
The prominent UK wine retailer will relocate from its existing nearby premises into modern, high-specification space at the 62-acre site, which is being developed by Origin – a joint venture between Feldberg Capital and HBD, part of Henry Boot. Virgin Wines has operated in Preston for more than 20 years and employs a significant local workforce.
The letting was completed ahead of the scheme’s practical completion, scheduled for November 2026. It leaves one 25,000 sq ft unit available within phase two.
Once completed, APTUS will provide 790,000 sq ft of industrial and logistics space close to Junction 31A of the M6. The scheme is expected to support up to 1,500 jobs, while construction is also under way on a 145,000 sq ft manufacturing facility for Kerakoll.
The development includes net-zero-carbon capability, EV-charging infrastructure, photovoltaic panels and 15 acres of landscaped surroundings.
Ed Hutchinson, chief executive of Henry Boot, said the latest agreements demonstrated demand for modern, sustainable industrial and logistics space in well-connected locations.

He said: “Securing these significant lettings reflects both the quality of the Origin portfolio and the depth of occupier demand for modern, sustainable industrial and logistics space in well-connected locations.”
The agreement forms part of a run of deals across Origin’s portfolio, including lettings at SPARK in Walsall and ARK in Markham Vale. Across its current 711,000 sq ft portfolio, 66 per cent of space is now either let or under offer.
Jamie Acheson, managing director at Feldberg Capital, added that the deals highlighted continued occupier demand for high-quality mid-box logistics space in strategic UK locations.
