Aberdeen Science Centre is collaborating with BrewDog for an exclusive adult-only event, “The Science of Flavour – For the Love of Beer.”

Taking place at Aberdeen Science Centre from 6pm on Thursday, 28th August, this experience offers a behind-the-scenes look at the science behind your favourite pint.

During the event, guests will dive into the brewing process, exploring how flavour, aroma, and quality are developed and perfected, all guided by BrewDog’s expert brewing and quality team. From hops to high-tech innovation, the event celebrates both craft and chemistry in a unique sensory experience.

Participants will explore the science behind the brewing process, followed by a tasting flight experience to discover how taste and smell influence the perception of beer. Guests will also have the opportunity to taste one of BrewDog’s new products – a Honeycomb Stout, in collaboration with Mackie’s of Scotland.

Bryan Snelling, Chief Executive Officer at Aberdeen Science Centre, said: “We are thrilled to continue our collaboration with BrewDog for our upcoming ‘The Science of Flavour – For the Love of Beer’ event. This is a brilliant opportunity to celebrate local producers and demonstrate the science behind some of people’s favourite beverages as they learn about how it’s made, where it comes from and why it tastes the way it does.”

Tickets for this experience cost £20 per person, which includes after-hours access to Aberdeen Science Centre’s many interactive exhibitions.

Fraser Gormley, Chief Quality Officer at BrewDog Said “We absolutely love beer at BrewDog, and engagement sessions like this allow us to continue to educate our teams while keeping up with the exiting new beers we make. We wanted to share this with our customers in this beer academy pilot with a view to holding more interactive tasting sessions with a wider audience.

“We’re super excited about this stuff and want others to be as passionate about great beer as we are!”.
