A hotel management company with ten hotels in Scotland is set to drive up revenue and the number of customers through its doors after agreeing a UK-wide partnership with Swurf – the innovative venue sourcing app that connects remote workers with welcoming spaces to work in.

RBH Hospitality Management provides a complete in-house hospitality management solution, incorporating operations, commercial and FM work. Its 55-hotel portfolio stretches from  Aberdeen to Devon and includes venues in Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh and Glasgow (see full list in notes to editors).

Swurf, which is headquartered in Edinburgh and has just announced a £200k funding boost to accelerate expansion, connects its users with flexible workspaces, whether in their local area or beyond, including hotels, restaurants, bars and other hospitality venues. It currently has 13,500 users, over 450 partners and has driven an estimated £2.12 million additional revenue into their venues since its launch in 2020.

Nikki Gibson – Swurf founder and CEO

Will Macpherson, RBH Hospitality Management’s group director of food and beverage, said: “Hybrid working has changed what the working day looks like for hundreds of thousands of people across the UK, and our venues are perfectly placed to meet the growing demand for remote, but socially pleasant working locations.

“Partnering with Swurf opens our doors to an ever-increasing number of potential guests, driving up revenue across our entire portfolio while also creating spaces where people can work, connect and feel part of something beyond their home office.”

Nikki Gibson, Swurf’s founder and CEO, said: “40 per cent of UK adults now either have hybrid working arrangements or operate in a full remote working fashion. While this can be beneficial in lots of ways, it has also led to a growing sense of isolation amongst our workforce, which is having a knock-on effect on mental health.”

“Swurf was born from a desire to provide easily accessible, social, remote working options that provide bright, warm, welcoming and comfortable alternatives to working at home in isolation day after day.”

“The app also helps to boost the hospitality sector during off-peak times, encouraging new footfall and revenue while supporting the remote working community.”

Hospitality businesses looking to partner with Swurf across the UK can do so online by visiting swurf.co, while those wishing to use the app to find Swurf workspaces can download from the Apple App and Google Play stores and sign-up for free.
