Acclaimed Scottish brewers Fierce Beer are raising a toast to Nuart Aberdeen with an exclusive new brew celebrating the return of Scotland’s national street art festival to the Granite City next week.
The limited-edition Fierce x Nuart Aberdeen Galaxy IPA comes wrapped in striking purple artwork inspired by this year’s festival theme – Poetry Is In The Streets. In keeping with the creative spirit, each can features a “blank wall” for drinkers to design their own mini murals and share on social media for the chance to win a Fierce Beer gift card.
Nuart Aberdeen curator Martyn Reed has already left his mark, inscribing one can with the words: “The magic of drink, like art, is that it has the power to turn our pain into poetry.”
The juicy, fruit-forward IPA is now available ahead of Nuart Aberdeen’s launch on Wednesday 22 April. The festival – which runs until Sunday 26 April – is staged by Aberdeen Inspired and Aberdeen City Council, with support from Finnies the Jeweller.
Mark McAulay, Marketing Manager at Fierce Beer, said:
“Fierce has always been about making something worth paying attention to, and Nuart Aberdeen does exactly the same thing on a city-wide scale.
We wanted to mark the festival with a beer that felt as considered as the art it celebrates, and the blank wall on the can felt like the right way to hand that over to the people who actually make Nuart what it is. We can’t wait to see what people do with it.”

Adrian Watson, Chief Executive of Aberdeen Inspired, added:
“They do say brewing is an art, so this collaboration between Fierce and Nuart Aberdeen is the perfect pairing as Scotland’s national street art festival bursts into life again.
We’re delighted to have Fierce’s support and passion helping put Nuart in front of beer fans everywhere. Their enthusiasm underlines just how embedded Nuart has become in the fabric of the Granite City – in both the legacy artworks it leaves behind and the people it brings into the city centre all year round.”
The Poetry Is In The Streets beer will be available at Fierce Bar on Exchequer Row in Aberdeen and at the brand’s Edinburgh venue on Rose Street. Local stockists include Westhill Service Station and Inverurie Whisky Shop, with online orders available via fiercebeer.com.
