Independent spirits distributor Chimera Brand Development has been appointed as the exclusive UK distribution and brand-building partner for Isle of Arran Distillers’ award-winning single malt portfolios, Arran Single Malt and Lagg Single Malt.
The agreement marks a significant step for both businesses, bringing together one of Scotland’s most respected independent distillers with Chimera’s modern, partnership-led approach to commercial strategy. The collaboration is designed to deepen market penetration, enhance premium visibility and strengthen the distinct positioning of the two island distilleries across both on-trade and off-trade channels in the UK.
Euan Mitchell, Managing Director of Isle of Arran Distillers, said: “As an independent distiller, finding a partner who truly understands our island’s unique heritage and the distinct identities of both our Lochranza and Lagg distilleries was paramount. The UK remains a vitally important and highly competitive market for single malts. Chimera’s progressive, targeted approach to brand development aligns perfectly with our vision.
“We are confident that their energy and focused commercial strategy will allow us to connect with whisky enthusiasts and grow our footprint across the country. As we enter this exciting new chapter, we would also like to extend our sincere thanks to the team at Amber Beverage UK. We are incredibly grateful for their dedication, partnership, and hard work in supporting our brands in the UK over the years, and we wish them continued success.”

Chimera Brand Development CEO Seymour Ferreira added: “We are incredibly proud to welcome Arran and Lagg into the Chimera family. These are exceptional, independently owned brands with an uncompromising dedication to quality and a clear point of difference. Our tailored, collaborative model is designed to respect the unique identity of each distillery while aggressively driving their footprint and narrative across the UK.”
Often described as “Scotland in miniature”, the Isle of Arran is home to two distinct distilleries: Lochranza in the north, known for the Arran Single Malt range, and Lagg in the south, which produces a bolder, peat-led style. Both operate under the Isle of Arran Distillers umbrella, a business founded in 1995 to re-establish whisky production on the island.
Since then, the company has evolved into a dual-distillery operation producing acclaimed single malts that reflect the island’s diverse landscape and whisky-making heritage.
Chimera Brand Development, meanwhile, is positioning itself as a new-generation distributor, challenging traditional models with a more selective, brand-focused strategy. The company works with a curated portfolio of premium and super-premium spirits, offering tailored commercial and strategic support designed to build long-term brand value.
Led by CEO Seymour Ferreira, formerly of Amber Beverage Group, and Finance Director Douglas Bratten, previously of Indie Brands and Amber Beverage UK, Chimera combines extensive industry experience with a focused, modern approach to UK distribution.
