Agricultural charity RSABI seeks new trustees to join board for 2024

RSABI, the organisation supporting people in Scottish agriculture, is seeking applications for two new trustees, to be co-opted onto its board in 2024. 
 

In line with the skills assessment of the board, RSABI would especially welcome applicants with a background in fulltime practical farming and/or agricultural policy. 
 

RSABI provides emotional, practical and financial support to people in the Scottish agricultural industry. The charity’s board is responsible for RSABI’s governance and strategy, and for making sure that the organisation is administered effectively.  
 

Jimmy McLean, Chair of RSABI, said, “We’re looking for two individuals who are enthusiastic about the good work RSABI does and who would be happy to volunteer their experience and knowledge to support the effective running of the organisation.”

“The particular skills we are seeking on this occasion are in depth knowledge of practical farming for one role and someone with strong agricultural policy knowledge for the other position. The co-opted trustees will play very important role on the RSABI board at a crucial time for the charity in its mission to support people in need in Scottish agriculture,” said Mr McLean. 

RSABI does not make any payment to its trustees, who kindly provide their time and knowledge free of charge, but travel and other expenses can be provided. 
 

The trustees would be co-opted to the RSABI board early in the new year, with a closing date for applications of December 8 and interviews expected to take place during the week commencing January 8th, 2024.
