Scottish craft brewer BrewDog, owned by Tilray Brands, Inc., is set to reopen its Inverurie bar on Saturday 27 June, introducing a new community-first model that could shape the future of its UK venues.
Located at 16 Market Place, BrewDog Inverurie has been reimagined to give local residents and community groups a formal voice in how the bar is run. The relaunch will be marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony for local businesses and community leaders at 6.30pm on Friday 26 June.
While BrewDog will continue to manage day-to-day operations, the venue will pilot a new ‘Community Champions’ initiative. This first-of-its-kind model will bring together local residents, OG Punks, and organisations to help shape events, programming and wider community engagement. The scheme will initially run as a trial for up to a year, allowing BrewDog to refine the balance between brand-led operations and community input before potentially rolling it out across other UK sites.
The reopening follows a strong grassroots campaign from Inverurie residents. After the bar’s closure, members of the local community organised and submitted a formal proposal to BrewDog, calling for its return. Inverurie has long been recognised as one of the brewery’s most engaged communities in the UK.

Celebrations on reopening day will run from 12pm until close, featuring live music and entertainment throughout. To thank locals for their support, the first 100 customers through the door will receive a complimentary sample pint of a BrewDog headliner beer or new release, available on a first come, first served basis.
Lauren Carrol, Chief Commercial Officer at BrewDog, said: “Inverurie did something remarkable – the community came to us. They put together a proposal and showed us what this bar means to them, so we listened and put a plan in place to reopen. The people of Inverurie have always been a special part of our story, so it is only right that they now help shape what happens inside their local bar. This is the beginning of a model we hope to grow.”
The reopening also comes as BrewDog expands its wider offering, recently launching 24 Tilray-owned American craft beers across its UK bars. Customers in Inverurie can also expect an updated food and drink menu, including new signature burgers, an expanded plant-based range, upgraded sides, refreshed Melts & Subs, and a new spirits line-up.
