An Inverclyde local is bringing the vibrant flavours of the Caribbean to the region after accessing support from Business Gateway.

Using locally sourced ingredients, Maria Roberts has been showcasing her expertise to teach clients how to harness the bold flavours of the tropical isles in an exciting first for the area.

Maria’s Caribbean Flava’s run hands-on cooking sessions where guests are taught how to prepare tropical treats and authentic Caribbean cuisine. The sessions have proven to be a great hit in the community, with all walks of life attending to try their hands (and tastebuds).

A former NHS worker, Maria has long been involved in supporting the community and is using her new venture as a way of bringing together friends and families to share in the joys of culinary exploration in an inclusive and supportive environment.
