The Glasgow Distillery Company today launched Makar Cherry Gin, the fifth addition to the award-winning Makar Gin family.

Makar Cherry Gin is created by infusing ripe, seasonal fresh cherries and a sprinkling of pink peppercorn in Makar’s Original Dry Gin, before being pressed to release maximum flavour.

Available now on The Glasgow Distillery website, Makar Cherry Gin pairs perfectly with tonic over ice, or mixed in a refreshing Cherry Collins cocktail. It’s the latest in a range of new products from the Glasgow Distillery Company, which recently sold out of its first batch of whisky – 1770 Glasgow Single Malt Scotch Whisky – in a matter of days.

The launch of Makar Cherry Gin follows a succession of awards for the premium gin range throughout 2018, including Makar Original Dry Gin winning Master status in the Super Premium category at The Gin Masters and Makar Oak Aged Gin achieving a Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

Mike Hayward, co-founder of The Glasgow Distillery Company, said: “Portfolio development and innovation is something we hold in high regard – we’re constantly working with our talented team of young distillers to identify new and interesting products to share with our customers.

“Makar Cherry Gin is perfectly placed for a gin market where consumers are seeking, new and exciting brand offerings.

“Makar Cherry Gin balances the traditional bold juniper-forward notes that Makar is well known for, with delicious richness from the ripe cherries, accompanied by a hint of subtle spice from the pink peppercorns on the finish. A full flavoured gin, Makar Cherry is perfect for mixing and sharing with friends.”

Bottled at 40% ABV, Makar Cherry Gin has an RSP of £25 for a 50cl bottle and is available to buy via www.glasgowdistillery.com and selected retailers.
