Scotland’s fastest-growing independent whisky bottler, Saltire Rare Malt, is raising a glass to its official debut in the United States. In a landmark partnership with the Steak House Hall of Fame, Saltire’s ultra-rare, single cask Scotch whiskies – each a liquid expression of heritage and craft – will now be poured at some of America’s most iconic steakhouses, where the finest cuts of beef meet the rarest malts of Scotland.

From Falkland, Fife – the birthplace of Scotch Whisky over 530 years ago – to the legendary dining rooms of Dallas, Oklahoma City, and New Orleans, Saltire’s U.S. arrival represents more than an international expansion. It is a cultural meeting of equals: Scotland’s rarest, one-of-a-kind whiskies meet America’s iconic steakhouses. Each glass poured carries centuries of tradition, bottling stories of patience, provenance, and passion, now set to be savoured in the heart of the U.S. steakhouse scene.

Saltire Rare Malt is renowned for curating distinctive, limited-edition single malts, each drawn from a single cask and bottled only when its expert curators judge the spirit to have reached its peak. Guiding this process are Hans and Becky Offringa – known internationally as ‘The Whisky Couple’ – whose unparalleled expertise ensures that only the most exceptional casks earn the Saltire name.

Among Saltire’s most prized releases are whiskies drawn from lost distilleries, never to be repeated and destined to become true collector’s treasures. For the first time, American whisky lovers and collectors can now savour these remarkable bottlings on U.S. soil. Launch expressions include Speyside Cask Strength, Tormore, and Teaninich, each available exclusively at Steak House Hall of Fame venues – a pairing of rare Scotch and legendary steakhouse tradition.

Saltire Rare Malt will be available from the following dates at three legendary steakhouses, each an icon of American dining. From Dallas to Oklahoma City to New Orleans, guests will be among the first in the United States to raise a glass of Saltire Rare Malt alongside world-class steak.

  • From Monday 29th September – Bob’s Steak & Chop House, Dallas, TX
  • From Tuesday 30th September – Cattlemen’s Steakhouse, Oklahoma City, OK
  • From Thursday 2nd October – Dickie Brennan’s Steakhouse, New Orleans, LA

Coming soon: Saltire Rare Malt will also be poured at two more legendary steakhouses – The Whaling Station in Monterey and Okeechobee Steakhouse in West Palm Beach – further uniting Scotland’s rarest malts with America’s most iconic dining traditions.

Keith Rennie, Founder & Director, Saltire Rare Malt shared his thoughts on the partnership“We are honoured to launch Saltire Rare Malt in the United States alongside the Steak House Hall of Fame. Great whisky and great steak share the same values – heritage, craftsmanship, patience, and passion. This partnership allows us to celebrate those values together with families and restaurants who embody them.”

Adding his excitement, Bob Sambol, Founder, Steak House Hall of Fame, said: “Our mission is to honour the legendary steakhouse operators who put their heart, soul and reputation into every meal. Saltire Rare Malt embodies that same spirit in whisky. This partnership is a natural fit.” Ron Small, Managing Partner, Steak House Hall of Fame
added: “This partnership is about legacy and excellence. Saltire Rare Malt doesn’t just bottle whisky, it bottles history – and pairing that with America’s most iconic steakhouses creates a dining experience that is truly unforgettable.”

Hans Offringa, International Whisky Expert & Saltire Rare Malt Cask Curator said: “Saltire Rare Malt represents everything whisky should be: authentic, rare, and full of character. To see these whiskies introduced to America, in partnership with some of the country’s greatest steakhouses, is a remarkable moment for whisky culture on both sides of the Atlantic.”

A SHARED PHILOSOPHY

The Steak House Hall of Fame, founded by Bob Sambol of the Original Bob’s Steak & Chop House in Dallas, honors the families, owners and operators who put their heart, soul, and reputation into every meal served. These legendary steakhouses are defined by the finest offerings, exemplary service, and rich history – values that continue to shape America’s steakhouse tradition.

Saltire Rare Malt reflects that same philosophy. The independent bottling company was founded by longtime friends Nigel Heywood and Keith Rennie, whose partnership spans more than three decades. Their shared passion for whisky led them to collect fine and rare single malts, eventually inspiring the creation of Saltire Rare Malt. Today, their commitment to heritage and craft brings Scotland’s rarest whiskies together with America’s most iconic steakhouses, creating a timeless experience for a new generation.
