Johnnie Walker Experience also retains its Europe spirit tourism title
Glenkinchie Distillery, located in East Lothian just 40 minutes from Edinburgh city centre, has been named Scotland’s Leading Distillery Tour at the World Travel Awards’ Europe Gala. The ceremony is described in the release as one of the most prestigious in the industry.
The whisky experience was applauded by judges for its offering, which the release says ensures there is something for everyone. Set amid garden surroundings, the distillery offers a range of tours and tastings for both whisky lovers and newcomers, alongside its retail area and bar.
Tours include the Signature Glenkinchie Flavour Journey, which takes guests through a cinematic history of the whisky with a guided tasting, and the Flavour and Cask Experience, offering behind-the-scenes access and the chance to taste liquid hand-drawn from the cask. The distillery’s Lowland Bar offers cocktails, non-alcoholic options, and sharing platters made with locally sourced ingredients.
The distillery and its team work with local makers and artists to host local fares and other experiences for visitors. The release states this is reflected in a Net Promoter Score of 95, recorded between July 2025 and May 2026.

We love welcoming people from across the world to share with them the experiences, cocktail and food menus and whisky which we’re all so proud to be a part of. We’re so lucky to work in a place which combines the best Scotland has to offer – plus the views and gardens are stunning. Congratulations to our team who made winning this prestigious award for the second time possible.”
The Johnnie Walker Experience on Princes Street, Edinburgh, was also named Europe’s Leading Spirit Tourism Experience for the second year. The venue will now go into the final in hopes of being named The World’s Leading Spirit Tourism Experience for a fourth year.
