Winning club to receive £10,000, with two runners-up awarded £2,500 each

The Famous Grouse has launched the Characterful Clubhouse Fund, a new initiative celebrating the clubhouses that sit at the heart of rugby communities across Scotland. Delivered in partnership with Scottish Rugby, the Scotland-wide campaign is inviting rugby clubs to share what makes their clubhouse special, giving them the chance to secure funding towards a clubhouse transformation. Entries are now open on the Scottish Rugby website.

One winning club will receive a grant of £10,000 to invest in its clubhouse, helping to create a space that continues to serve players, volunteers, supporters and the wider community for years to come. Two runners-up will also receive grants of £2,500 each.

For more than 35 years, The Famous Grouse has partnered with Scottish Rugby, supporting the game both on and off the pitch. Through the Characterful Clubhouse campaign, The Famous Grouse is shining a light on the local clubs that help rugby thrive across Scotland, and investing in spaces where teams gather, friendships are formed and stories are shared.

Karen Daly, Marketing Manager at The Famous Grouse, said: “For generations, rugby clubhouses have been at the heart of so many communities across Scotland. They’re places where people come together to celebrate, volunteer, share stories and support their club.

“Through Characterful Clubhouse, we want to recognise the contribution local rugby clubs make on and off the pitch. We’re really looking forward to hearing the stories that make each clubhouse unique and importantly, helping clubs invest in spaces that can continue serving their communities for years to come.”

Olaf Gueldner, Chief Customer Officer at Scottish Rugby, said: “We’re delighted to be working with The Famous Grouse on the Characterful Clubhouse campaign to recognise the people and places that make grassroots rugby what it is. Our rugby clubs are at the heart of their communities across Scotland, and their clubhouses play an important role in bringing players, volunteers and supprters together. We look forward to seeing the entries from across Scotland and hearing the stories behind them.”

Clubs entering the competition will be asked to share what makes their clubhouse unique, how it brings people together and how the funding will support its future. Entries are now open, with successful clubs set to be announced later this year.

Applications close on Tuesday 3 November 2026 at 23.59, with winners to be announced in late November 2026. Further information, terms and conditions, and entry details are available at scottishrugby.org.
