AN EXCESS of 4000 Edinburgh residents hot footed it down to the highly anticipated Edinburgh Street Food this weekend, to celebrate its launch and take to social media.Ā
Whilst consuming over 10,000 street food dishes from ten exceptional vendors as well as beers and spirits all hailing from Scotland, hundreds of foodies have raved about the neon-lit food hall referring to it as the missing jigsaw piece of the capital’s food scene.
The ESF line up includesĀ Junk, Bundits, Chix, What Le Duck, Antojitos, The Peruvian, House Of Tapas, Homies, Fabbrica Pasta and SoftCore,Ā with room for further rotating guest traders outside.Ā
To kick things off with a bang, Edinburgh Street Food teamed up with the Leith based not-for-profit dance studio,Ā House Of Jack, to surprise guests with a 60 strong dance mob and a hiphop performance from their dynamic Mini Jackers dance group.Ā
“Being part of the launch weekend for the beautiful, vibrant Edinburgh Street Food had our dancers buzzing with the exciting atmosphere. They loved surprising the crowds with energetic performances, and couldn’t wait to try the fantastic food and drinks from the wide range of vendors” commented Becky Enoch, Studio Producer of House Of Jack. “ESF is a wonderful and much-needed addition to Edinburgh, where we’re looking forward to spending much more time!”Ā Ā
Andrew Marshall, co-founder of ESF, commented: “We were thrilled with the massive turnout this weekend and how well Edinburgh Street Food has been received. It is clear that this is filling a much needed gap in the Edinburgh scene and we love the positive feedback about the social dining and inclusive atmosphere. Our 10 vendors are buzzing and turning out some of the best street food available in the UK.”
