Brunswick Book Club, the community café from Edinburgh’s family-run Vittoria Group, is celebrating one year of serving the city, bringing seriously good food and warm hospitality to the neighbourhood.
Located on the corner of Brunswick Street and Leith Walk, the venue sits on the site of the group’s very first restaurant, Vittoria, which was opened by “Nonno” Alberto Crolla back in 1970.
Today, three generations on, the family continues to breathe new life into the space, with Brunswick Book Club offering a modern, laid-back take on the classic public house – while its sister restaurant, Vittoria on The Walk, continues to serve its loyal fanbase just next door.
In its first 12 months, Brunswick Book Club has quickly become one of Edinburgh’s most versatile and loved spots, whether it’s for a quiet coffee, midweek pub quiz, or sunny afternoons on the buzzing patio.

Director of Vittoria Group, Leandro Crolla, said, “Brunswick Book Club was built to give the community a place to gather that’s relaxed, welcoming and full of character. It’s amazing to think this same building has been part of our family for over 50 years, and we’re proud to keep its legacy alive in a new way, and grateful to everyone who’s made our corner of Leith part of their routine this past year.”
Open daily from 9am until late, the space seats 65 inside and another 85 on the sun-drenched patio blends cosy café charm with upbeat evening energy. There’s something for everyone on the menu, with hearty, affordable food from all-day breakfasts to Scottish classics and Sunday roasts, to Mediterranean-inspired light bites.
Guests can find a reason to celebrate each day, with live music every Monday through Wednesday, with pub quizzes weekly each Thursday.
