Glasgow cocktail week unveil cocktail trails taking over entire city

17/04/2024

With days to go until Glasgow Cocktail Week (GCW) officially launches its biggest ever festival (Friday 19th – Sunday 28th April), the event has unveiled a series of cocktail trails mapping out the very best discounted drinks across the city including its first ever ‘No and Low’ trail.

With an exciting blend of masterclasses, pop-ups, tasting sessions and discounted drinks, 2024’s festival will take over the city from North to South, East to West with GCW unveiling its first ever cocktail maps to guide punters to the best tipple.

Over 40 of Glasgow’s best venues and a new GCW Courtyard popup bar in Princes Sq will take part in 10 days of extravagant cocktails, discounted menus and surprise pop ups, with the new festival maps available to view here. To unlock discounted GCW price cocktails and secret menus, purchase a GCW wristband for only £5 via www.glasgowcocktailweek.com and show your wristband at the venue to activate discounts.

For the first time ever, Glasgow Cocktail Week has introduced a ‘No and Low’ trail, mapping out the very best 0% drinks in town. With 11 bars offering reduced or no alcohol drinks, everyone can join in the fun. Say goodbye to boring mocktails or soft drinks and go big on flavours with bars in every part of the city offering Crossip, a no-alcohol alternative, in their drinks.

Crossip’s sophisticated flavours are unapologetically bold with Fresh Citrus, the well-rounded Dandy Smoke and Pure Hibiscus, meaning mocktail fans don’t have to compromise on taste. Avoid the hangover with appetising offers like Platform’s refreshing elderflower, lemonade, Crossip Citrus and honey blend; August House’s ‘Passionfruit No-jito’ or ‘Hibiscus and Lavender Cosmo’ or The Dam’s ‘Pal-no-ma’.

Meanwhile in the city centre, cocktail fans can visit 14 bars including the stunning surroundings of Champagne Central, sip on gin cocktails at Gin71, visit stylish cocktail bar Malo,  or enjoy signature sips at audio bar Mamasan including a ‘Pineapple Spice’ and ‘Melongrass’.

Head East towards Merchant City for 13 venues featuring one-off concoctions and reduced price cocktails including some of the city’s newest bars The Corset Club and Flight Club, or award winning spot The Absent Ear, serving up £9 cocktails like ‘Death Drops’ or ‘Sling Yer Hook’. In the Gallowgate, head to Saint Luke’s or modern Scottish pub, The Gate for expertly crafted cocktails like Wonderwove with Woven Whisky superblend or Malt Bae with Eminente rum, Crossbrew and malted barley. In Merchant City, cocktail haven The Spiritualist is serving up a Orange & Basil Spritz with Edinburgh Gin, or a Flower Bomb with Highland Park 12, lychee and St Germain liqueur. Dive bar The Dam is also joining the party with an exciting menu for GCW festival guests.

West is best for cocktails this spring, as 12 of Glasgow’s favourite spots will offer GCW menus including The Locale’s unmissable Hot Honey Daiquiri or innovative ‘Sage and Wild’ with Birch Botanical Scottish spirit, sage, citrus and berries at The Finnieston. And the Crescent on Argyle Street, will serve up Birds of A Feather with Don Papa rum, or enjoy non-stop margs at El Jefe’s, plus GCW menus at West Side Tavern and Chinaski’s.

Hit up Glasgow’s Southside at beautiful cocktail bar Lunar, who will offer everything from a ‘Gung Ho Gimlet’ or ‘Strawberius Maximus’ for £9.50 before heading along to cafe and bar Henry’s for dazzling drinks in Shawlands.

Cocktail fans can use the brand new cocktail trails to map out a flavour filled day in the city – taking in elegant cocktail bars, dive bars, wine bars and more, whether looking for mojitos or margaritas, cosmos or caipirinhas.

For the first time, GCW will offer cocktail masterclasses – partnering with everybody from barber shops to Charlotte Tilbury Glow Up to offer an elevated cocktail experience. With masterclasses quickly selling out, book your spot now via www.glasgowcocktailweek.com
